It was our pleasure to participate in the Library and Archives Canada (located in Ottawa’s downtown core) stairs and railings project. This included custom stainless railings with an upper glass insert, adding to the downtown core’s contemporary transformation while preserving some historic charm.

Library and Archives Canada
It was our pleasure to participate in the Library and Archives Canada (located in Ottawa’s downtown core) stairs and railings project. This included custom stainless railings with an upper glass insert, adding to the downtown core’s contemporary transformation while preserving some historic charm.
This custom built home garnished a spot as a finalist in the 2011 Housing Design Awards in the category of Custom Homes. The main floor of the family residence was designed to be completely accessible, and also included a completely self-contained basement apartment with a private entrance and two second-level guest bedrooms. McCluskey’s Welding fabricated and installed the custom-designed railings and stairs leading to both levels, forged with stainless steel and complimented with glass panels on the interior and exterior. A photograph of the custom railing and stair design was featured on the front page of the Ottawa Citizen Homes section, and McCluskey’s Welding is very proud to have been involved in fabricating and installing the stairs in this custom home.
Library and Archives Canada
Library and Archives Canada has recently undergone a stunning renovation, complete with 800 linear feet of sleek stainless steel railing. Fabricated by McCluskey’s Welding, the railing is not only functional, but also an impressive design feature, with a 2-foot high glass guard rail. Visitors can now peruse the library’s extensive collection in style and safety, thanks to the expert craftsmanship of McCluskey’s Welding and the innovative architectual firm contracted by Library and Archives Canada.
